Position Summary

The Manager of Sterile Processing is responsible for the strategic planning, daily operations and services of Sterile Processing Departments to include planning, directing and coordinating activities involved in the acquisition, decontamination, storage, assembly, cleaning, and sterilization of medical, surgical and related supplies, materials and equipment utilized in the care and treatment of patients at Tacoma General, Mary Bridge Children's Hospital & Allenmore hospitals, Gig Harbor and various clinics. The Manager oversees staff productivity and ensures production is standardized and compliant with the Joint Commission, Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and MultiCare policies and procedures. Hospital-based leaders may have a dual matrixed reporting structure.



Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of applicable experience in lieu of degree will be considered
  • Graduate of an accredited Central Service/Sterile Processing Technology course; military training or experience satisfies this requirement for WA state employees, per Title 18 RCW
  • Certified as Central Service/Sterile Processing Technician
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience as a Central Service/Sterile Processing Technician
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a supervisory or lead capacity

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $74,609.60 - $107,348.80 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
