Purpose of Position:

Del Monte Foods (DMC Foods Inc.), the Foods Division of Fresh Del Monte, is seeking a National Account Manager - Walmart. The National Account Manager - Walmart will be responsible for the successful achievement of the ongoing Merchandising, Assortment, Pricing, and Shelving objectives established each fiscal year for the accounts within their responsibility. This position will focus on further developing DMC Foods Inc. base business and play a role to develop growth initiatives, strategies, and tactics for emerging categories.

Accountabilities:

The Shift Operations Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating utility operations under the direction of the Plant Manager, Sr. Production Manager, or other designated plant leadership. This position supports production by ensuring reliable operation of utility systems, equipment, and facility infrastructure while meeting safety, quality, environmental, and cost objectives.

The Shift Operations Manager oversees utility employees and contractors involved in boiler operations, buildings and grounds upkeep, compressed air systems, water systems, wastewater systems, and other plant utility functions. This role is responsible for maintaining compliance with company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety requirements, environmental standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Utility Operations

• Supervise utility employees to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant utility systems.
• Oversee utility systems including boilers, compressed air, waste water system, water systems, HVAC, and related facility infrastructure.
• Monitor utility performance to ensure uninterrupted support of plant production operations.
• Coordinate utility operations during processing season and support maintenance activities during the off-season.
• Assist with planning and execution of utility-related capital projects, equipment upgrades, and process improvements.
• Support preventative maintenance activities and ensure utility equipment is maintained in proper working conditions.
• Assist in ordering parts, materials, and supplies needed for utility operations and maintenance.
• Coordinate contractors and outside service providers as needed to support plant utility systems.
• Ensure utility-related records, logs, inspections, and operating reports are completed accurately and on time.
• Participate in troubleshooting equipment failures, system downtime, and emergency response situations.

Leadership and Supervision

• Manage, supervise, coach, train, and develop utility hourly and salaried employees.
• Coordinate employee scheduling, staffing, overtime, and labor utilization within the department.
• Promote effective employee relations to improve motivation, teamwork, productivity, and retention.
• Ensure employees are properly trained in utility system operations, safety requirements, and plant procedures.
• Participate in employee performance management, discipline, coaching, and development activities.
• Conduct safety meetings, department meetings, and shift communications.
• Promote continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles throughout the department.

Safety, GMP, and Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all Del Monte safety policies, GMPs, environmental requirements, and food safety standards.
• Maintain compliance with all company safety policies and procedures within the utility area.
• Enforce compliance with OSHA, EPA, PSM, boiler, wastewater, and other environmental or regulatory requirements.
• Promote and drive safe operation of utility systems, plant equipment, powered industrial equipment, and confined space activities as applicable.
• Manage a culture of safety through training, coaching, accountability, and employee involvement.
• Monitor and direct proper use of personal protective equipment and safe work practices.
• Support food safety, GMP, sanitation, and quality standards as they relate to utility operations.
• Participate in audits, inspections, and corrective action activities related to safety, environmental, and utility systems.

Lean Manufacturing / Del Monte Production Systems (DMPS)

• Support, facilitate, and assist with implementation of Del Monte Production Systems (DMPS) and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Encourage employee involvement in continuous improvement activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, improve safety, and lower operating costs.

Minimum Skills Required:

• 4-year degree, preferably in Agriculture or Business with 3-5 years' experience OR combination of education and experience.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Knowledge of industrial utility systems including boilers, refrigeration, compressed air, HVAC, water systems, wastewater.
• Working knowledge of safety programs, environmental requirements, and regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of GMPs, sanitation requirements, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to supervise employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and remain flexible in changing situations.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Ability to work weekends, overtime, shift schedules, and on-call situations as needed.
• Equivalent combinations of education, training, certifications, and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.

Preferred:

• 3-5 years of manufacturing, utility, maintenance, operations, or industrial experience preferred.
• Previous experience in a food manufacturing or food processing environment preferred.
• Experience with boiler operations, wastewater systems, and preventative maintenance programs preferred.
• Familiarity with environmental compliance, PSM, confined space, lockout/tagout, and permit-required work processes preferred.
• Understanding budgeting, cost control, project management, and capital planning concepts.
• Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and plant operations support.
• Strong understanding of employee relations, staffing, and labor utilization.
• Experience working with contractors, vendors, and outside service providers preferred.
• SAP experience preferred.
