What will you be doing!

Developing and managing the budget for the business line.

Ensuring the compliant, consistent implementation of the Corporate RP Program across missions.

Maintaining open and clear communications with the Corporate RP Program, facilitating staff to engage in program change initiatives.

Providing sufficient and competent RP resources to support the delivery of the mission.

Identifying and solving complex radiological protection problems.

Promoting commitment to a team, task, or shared goal, allowing the group to take responsibility for its goals.

Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for:

Education

Post-secondary degree or diploma in science/engineering and/or related radiation protection work experience relevant to the RP compliance program.

Alternative education and experience may be approved by the Corporate Director, Radiation Protection.

Experience

10 years of work experience, including detailed knowledge of the nuclear industry, and an additional three years of experience in a leadership role in Radiation Protection (RP).

Experience of working with the Acts, Regulations and Standards related to RP.

Experience making recommendations concerning selection, training, appraisal and discipline of staff.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Proven management and leadership skills, and the ability to operate in a multi-disciplinary functional style organization and business-like manner.

Strong planning, technical and administrative skills to support day-to-day operations and regulatory compliance requirements.

Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities in Radiation Protection.

Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, RP staff members and customers at various levels both within CNL and externally.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to communicate highly complex Radiation Protection issues to a wide range of internal and external customers with a varying degree of knowledge.

Security Clearance Eligibility Required

Level 2 Secret requires a minimum of 7 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariats "Standard on Security Screening" and the "Policy on Government Security."

Working Conditions:

Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hour work week.
