Role Overview The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the accounting and financial reporting functions for Ronald McDonald House Global, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial information. This role oversees monthly and annual close processes, leads the external audit, and manages key regulatory filings including the IRS Form 990 and state charitable solicitations. The Finance Manager serves as the organizations nonprofit accounting expert, ensuring strong internal controls and compliance with 501(c)(3) requirements. Reporting to the Controller, this role provides leadership and development for two finance supervisors and one finance specialist, fostering accountability, continuous improvement, and financial integrity across the organization.

Main Responsibilities

Financial Close, Reporting & Compliance

  • Ensure monthly and annual financial statements are timely, accurate and complete.
  • Oversee the cash receipts and cash disbursement processes including the RMH travel and expense credit card process.
  • Lead the year-end external audit process including working with external auditors, preparation and/or review of audited financial statements and audit work papers.
  • Lead the IRS Form 990 process including preparation of the supporting schedules and coordination with the external agency for filing.
  • Oversee the state charitable solicitation filing process, partnering with the external agency to ensure filings are executed on time and in compliance with state regulations.
  • Leverage awareness of sector trends and leading practices to inform continuous improvement of financial processes, controls and reporting capabilities.
  • Support execution of any financial infrastructure improvements needed to support operations, including accounting systems, chart of accounts, system integrations and reporting tools.
  • Ensure internal control processes for RMH Global are designed and operating effectively.
  • Serve as the financial technical expert for the charity, performing nonprofit accounting and tax research and provide guidance to the RMH Global team as necessary.

Team Leadership

  • Directly manage and mentor the two Finance Supervisors and the Finance Specialist, providing guidance, performance coaching, and professional development.
  • Ensure effective supervision, training, and workload alignment across the two Finance Supervisors and the Finance Specialist.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, CPA or MBA preferred.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience; public accounting and nonprofit experience required.
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting and 501 c 3 compliance regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to adapt and simplify messaging for all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.

Salary Range The expected salary range for this role is $101,437.00 - $126,797.00 per year.
