The Respiratory Care Manager provides leadership and creates a strategy to achieve the best outcomes in quality, financial vitality and human experience through coaching, counseling, making work assignments, supervising work quality, and developing team members. The manager develops and maintains collegial relationships with physicians and other interdisciplinary team members. The role supports the department and the organization’s respiratory care service line in aspects of performance improvement including, but not limited to, education, application of tools, methods, data collection, analysis. As a Novant Health leader, the Manager is accountable for guiding the team and individuals to successful outcomes. The Respiratory Care Manager is expected to be highly autonomous and be able to manage, delegate, prioritize, and make resource assignments with limited guidance.
What We're Looking For:
Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Graduate from an accredited school for Respiratory care, required. Graduate Degree, preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of three years progressive supervisory / management experience, required.
Previous managerial experience, preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Registered by National Board Resp Care, required.
RCP licensure in appropriate state, required.
Additional Skills Required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific competency assessment. Current practice in area of responsibility; regulatory/governing standards, policies, and procedures; required computer/information systems/ equipment used in performing assigned duties; application of safety and infection control policies and procedures; ability to develop learning development plans, give and receive feedback, and coach and counsel staff; staffing, scheduling, and payroll processes; customer feedback and impact on core processes; delegation, team building, decision making, conflict management, change management skills; verbal and written communication skills that are sensitive to diversities among age groups, cultures, and educational levels.
