Position Description:

The University Housing and the Resident Experience (UHRE) department in the Division of Student Affairs at the University of Louisville is seeking to hire a Manager, Residential Experience. The Manager serves as a key leader within the UHRE team and is responsible for overseeing the department's administrative processes related to student conduct, care response, and compliance. This position functions as the primary administrator for the residential student conduct process, ensuring that all cases are addressed in a manner that is fair, educational, consistent, and aligned with institutional policies and community standards. The Manager leads the development, implementation, and ongoing assessment of residential policies, including oversight of live-on requirements and associated exemptions and approval processes for first and second-year students.

Additionally, this position manages compliance-related training and protocols (including CSA and Clery requirements), and contract administration and coordination of specialized housing programs such as affiliate and Greek suite communities. The Manager is expected to exercise sound judgment and maintain a high level of integrity and consistency in decision-making. This position also requires strong collaboration and relationship-building skills, working closely with campus stakeholders including various Student Affairs staff, the Dean of Students Office, Campus Safety, and affiliated organization to ensure cohesive processes, effective communication, and a holistic approach to student support and accountability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the Director for Student Care and Student Conduct to ensure UHRE compliance with University conduct standards; serves as the UHRE main care and conduct officer, meeting weekly with a DOS working group

  • Assigns resident conduct cases to staff as necessary and directly adjudicates more elevated cases as required.

  • Train and coach staff on University and UHRE conduct policies and procedures each semester including professional and student staff that serve in an on-call capacity

  • Assigns resident conduct cases to staff as necessary and directly adjudicates more elevated cases as required

  • Collaborate with Title IX staff and the Clery Compliance/Accreditation Manager to ensure compliance of required staff training such as FERPA, CSA, etc. using Vector Solutions training software

  • Reviews and processes exemptions for first and second year live-on requirements, including review of documentation using the Cards Nest portal and collaborating with affiliate managers to ensure residents of these properties are compliant

  • In partnership with affiliate and Greek Life housing partners, addresses resident contract and academic-related concerns, escalating issues as necessary; meets biweekly with affiliate manager to address immediate and current concerns

  • Supervises three student outreach leaders who assist at affiliate properties with communication between the University and the affiliate hall and affiliate housing fairs

  • Assists with other Division initiatives and operations as necessary including, but not limited to, freshman orientation, Welcome Week, and resident move-in events

  • Performs other duties and completes special projects as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in campus housing

  • Supervisory experience in at least four (4) of the first eight essential duties and functions listed

  • Experience compiling data and running reports

Work Hours and Location

This is a full-time, exempt position with a 37.5-hour regular workweek including intermittent evening and weekend hours as required. Additional work hours may be required based on department needs, programming, staffing, and/or scheduling. The primary work location for this position is at the Belknap Campus. Occasional overnight travel (for professional development, conferences, student trips, etc.) may be required.
