The Corporate & Community Engagement Relationship Manager (Business) acts as an account manager who proactively engages with employers to maximize career outcomes for students across the University. This role is housed in the U Career Success office which supports students at the University of Utah with the tools, resources, and support necessary to make informed career decisions, develop essential skills, and successfully transition into the workplace.
Relationship Managers create and strengthen key partnerships with local, regional, national, and global high-value employers, develop and execute long-term and immediate plans to increase employer-student involvement, and collaborate with the coaching team and University departments to attract well-matched applicants to career opportunities. Acting as an extension of company recruiting teams, the Relationship Manager (Business) devises creative and business-savvy approaches to align student talent with organizational needs, offers insight on labor market and industry trends, and works to expand awareness of employer brands, jobs, and internships at the University. This position manages several high-touch, high-visibility employer accounts that require strong strategic judgment and consistent relationship cultivation.
Position objectives include increasing engagement and employer satisfaction with existing company partners, recruiting new companies, and increasing student opportunities.
The many activities we host and/or participate in include networking and hiring events, guest speakers, panels and workplace visits.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Four to six years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of hiring department's area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department. Completion of provided supervisory training within one year of employment may be required. Master's degree in a related area may be preferred.
