MANAGER, PRIOR APPROVAL AND PROVIDER EDUCATION

The Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing agency for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, is seeking a full-time Manager, Prior Approval and Provider Education to support CDR’s Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Prior Approval Program, Accountable Contact designation process, and provider education initiatives. This role ensures CPE activities submitted for prior approval meet CDR policies and that CPE Providers receive clear, accurate, policy‑aligned guidance.
The successful candidate will evaluate CPE prior approval applications, manage CPE activity audits, reviews Accountable Contact submissions, and manage the development of education materials for CPE Providers and Accountable Contacts.

This position offers work-from-home flexibility and a telecommuting option for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluates CPE programs submitted for prior approval, determines alignment with CDR policies, and communicates approval or denial decisions to CPE Providers.
  • Reviews CPE programs selected for audit, assesses compliance with CDR criteria and policies, communicates audit outcomes, and updates audit records in the CPE database.
  • Responds to written and verbal inquiries regarding the prior approval process, approval criteria, and related policies, providing clear and accurate guidance to CPE Providers.
  • Contributes to the Accountable Contact designation process, ensuring candidates meet all training, attestation, and policy requirements and that designations are issued and maintained in alignment with CDR compliance standards.
  • Participates in daily customer service operations, including phone, email, and LiveChat support for practitioners and CPE Providers.
  • Assists with developing and implementing training materials for CPE Providers and Accountable Contacts to ensure consistent understanding of CDR policies and procedures.
  • Contributes to annual updates of Accountable Contact training materials, ensuring alignment with evolving CDR policies, procedures, and program requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors’ degree required; preferred fields include Nutrition and Dietetics, Adult Education, Marketing/Communications, or Business.
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) or Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR)
  • 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in certification, professional development, adult education, accreditation, assessment, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in evaluating programs, applying policy criteria, and communicating determinations clearly and professionally.
  • Strong analytical reasoning, judgement, communication, visual communications or graphic design, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort working with databases and online platforms.
  • Some travel required (approximately 2%; FNCE ).
About Us:
The Academy offers a competitive salary range from $58,000 - $68,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience, as well as an excellent benefit package, including medical, dental vision, LTD, tuition reimbursement and 401k match with IMMEDIATE VESTING!
