Responsibilities:
  • Holds 24-hour accountability for the operation of hospital pharmacy
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, coaches and mentors staff.
  • Responsible for management of personnel, assists with hiring, evaluating, disciplining, grievances and training among the team as outlined by departmental organizational structure.
  • Supervises and evaluates the performance of pharmacy operations, and in partnership with stakeholders.
  • Assumes responsibility for Pharmacy when Pharmacy Director is not available.
  • Provides training of personnel and ensures staff are competent to carry out their essential functions.
  • Effectively and clearly communicate potential risks to leadership in a timely manner.
  • Complies with applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
  • Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
  • Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
  • Regular and prompt attendance
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
  • Related duties as assigned
Additional Information:

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy required. Master's degree preferred. and 3 years of experience 1 year of which was in leadership or management. Required
  • Master's Degree Preferred
  • RPH - Registered Pharmacist in the state of Alabama within 60 Days Required
  • Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
