Manager, Permitting (Energy Infrastructure)

Location: Hybrid – Salt Lake City, UT | Phoenix, AZ | Greater Portland Area | Greater Los Angeles Area

A leading energy infrastructure developer is seeking a Manager of Permitting to support the development and permitting of large-scale power generation projects across the United States.

This role will be responsible for managing permitting strategy and execution across a regional portfolio of projects, working closely with development, engineering, legal, and commercial teams to advance projects from early-stage development through construction readiness.

The ideal candidate will bring experience navigating complex permitting processes for energy infrastructure projects and have strong familiarity with PNW permitting requirements.


Responsibilities

• Lead permitting strategy and execution for large-scale energy infrastructure projects within a defined region
• Secure and manage required discretionary and regulatory permits from early-stage development through construction commencement
• Coordinate with internal teams including development, engineering, real estate, interconnection, legal, and finance
• Manage third-party consultants supporting environmental reviews, studies, and permitting documentation
• Engage with regulatory agencies, authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), and community stakeholders
• Support project siting evaluations and identify potential permitting constraints early in the development process
• Represent projects in community meetings, regulatory hearings, and stakeholder engagements
• Track permitting progress and maintain clear communication across project teams


Qualifications

Permitting experience in the Pacific Northwest (PNW) is required
• 3+ years of experience in the energy industry with a focus on project permitting and regulatory approvals
• Experience supporting projects from early-stage development through construction
• Familiarity working with regulatory agencies and permitting authorities
• Strong project coordination and cross-functional communication skills
• Ability to manage consultants and multiple project timelines simultaneously
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Preferred experience with PNW permitting related to thermal energy projects

• Hybrid work schedule (3 days in office)
• Travel up to approximately 25-30% depending on project needs
