Position Summary:
Provides leadership for patient safety and risk reduction activities in collaboration with quality and safety leadership and UTMC departments. Plans and leads Patient Safety Council efforts, supports event analyses, and monitors corrective actions.
Leads development and implementation of the hospital-wide Team Training (TeamSTEPPS) program, promoting a culture of safety, supporting staff and leadership, and driving improvements in communication and processes.
Oversees the Blood Management Safety Coordinator and program to ensure safe blood management and transfusion practices.
Position Qualification:
Minimum experience of 5 years as practicing nurse or other certified/licensed health care professional in hospital environment (academic setting helpful).
Experience in educating adults and speaking to groups.
Ability to manage multiple projects.
Lead and collaborates effectively in a team environment.
Registered Nurse in the state of Tennessee or Multi-State Compact License
Bachelor's required, Masters preferred.
Years of Experience can be related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
