The Manager of Student Services position
Reporting to Noble’s Senior Director of Student Services, the Manager of Student Services is responsible for the continuous improvement of Noble’s Special Education and English Language Learning programming in addition to staff professional development–compliance, academic support, how we view students as learners, and ensuring campuses are compliant with state and federal mandates that are in place to ensure MLs and students with unique, diverse needs (academic, behavioral, or health) have the best academic supports. It is the Manager of Student Service’s goal – through tackling the job responsibilities listed below – to ensure all Noble campuses are providing affirming and engaging programs essential to our MLs acquiring English language proficiency and accelerating the learning for students with IEPs and 504 plans to have the best post-secondary opportunities through a four-year college experience or other pathway.
Job Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the Manager of Student Services are to lead, progress monitor, and support Multilingual Coordinators, Case Managers/Deans of Student Services, campus staff, and Principals as they collectively aim to tackle:
  • Meeting Multilingual and Special Education compliance metrics that support Charter Renewal and compliance with ISBE, CPS, and Federal law.
  • Coaching and providing guidance for all campus stakeholders to improve compliance and quality programming.
  • Ongoing advocacy and development, including direct involvement in professional development and building campus expertise through Network and Campus-specific trainings, in addition to advocacy for our MLs and students with diverse needs, and supporting Noble’s anti-racist commitments.
  • Coordinating assessments and collaboration, such as the State Seal of Biliteracy Testing, ACCESS testing, WIDA Screeners, Interims, Skills Check, STAR Reading & Math, State testing accommodations, and other Network assessments that may require modifications or accommodations for accessibility.
  • Facilitate and Coordinate Network-wide Bilingual Advisory Committee meetings once per quarter.
  • Completing classroom observations and coaching/support to build skills around differentiation and implementation of accommodations and other supports to meet the needs of our MLs and diverse learners.
  • Supporting campus leaders in meeting the behavioral needs of students through observations and brainstorming support plans with research-based interventions.
  • Contributing to curriculum development and supporting campuses in implementing supplemental academic materials
Candidate Qualifications/Traits: 
  • Relentless commitment to serving our students with diverse needs and our ML students, families, and their communities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive, solution-oriented approach to leadership and collaboration
  • Deep expertise in teaching and learning (including, but not limited to, ESL/Bilingual instruction, disability awareness, research-based practices, curriculum, brain development, adult learning, and Culturally Relevant & Sustaining Teaching); 
  • Professional Educators License, LBS unlimited, and English as a Second Language Endorsement;
  • Team management experience, including the ability to effectively manage and partner with a diverse set of people 
  • Experience in and/or competencies needed to oversee ongoing short & long-term change management, including the ability to set a clear vision and then tackle the strategic planning needed to realize that vision.
  • Bi or Multilingual preferred, though not required.
