Job Summary and Qualifications
General Statement of Duties:
Responsible for ensuring clear and timely communication for all mammography patients, including coordination of follow-up care with referring physicians. Oversees breast interventional radiology (IR) procedure scheduling to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and appropriate patient preparation. Manages mammography module staff, providing guidance, support, and accountability for daily operations and performance. Serves as a liaison by communicating operational issues, updates, and opportunities to administration, radiologists, marketing, and other key organizational stakeholders.
Essential Job Functions:
Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of outpatient breast imaging workflows, including screening, diagnostic, and interventional services, ensuring efficient patient throughput and compliance with clinical guidelines.
Coordinates and oversees the scheduling of mammography and breast IR procedures, while performing advanced clerical, secretarial, and front-office functions to support daily operations.
Collects, reviews, and validates all required reports and clinical documentation to initiate and support timely patient follow-up processes
Maintains proficiency in EMR and PACS systems, including scheduling, documentation, image retrieval, report tracking, and data integrity monitoring.
Facilitates care coordination across internal departments and external provider offices, utilizing strong analytical skills to identify incomplete orders, missing documentation, and gaps in patient follow-up.
Monitors BI-RADS follow-up recommendations to ensure timely scheduling and completion of additional imaging, biopsies, and interventional procedures.
Oversee the generation and distribution of required patient and physician notification letters, ensuring full compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., MQSA)
Maintains and audits tracking systems for biopsies, recalls, surgical outcomes, and pending pathology results to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely resolution
Leads and manages mammography module staff, including assigning work, monitoring productivity, ensuring adherence to workflows, and supporting staff performance and development
Ensures high standards of patient communication and service, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and promoting a positive patient experience throughout the care continuum
Identifies workflow inefficiencies and implements process improvements to enhance operational performance, patient satisfaction, and compliance outcomes.
Additional Job Functions:
Supports the mission and vision of South Texas Radiology Imaging Centers and demonstrates excellent customer service at all times.
Understands and is committed to helping South Texas Radiology Imaging Centers and its associated facilities achieve its goals.
Must learn and comply with System and facility safety policies and rules; must use appropriate safety equipment and procedures at all times; must immediately report all unsafe conditions to supervisors; must be familiar with all safety features of equipment, tools or materials encompassed by job duties; and must check with supervisors (prior to job performance) if there is a question as to the safe procedure to be used for any job function.
Adheres to the STRIC Code of Conduct and demonstrates ethical behavior as expected by our patients, colleagues and the community. Understands the personal obligation to report any activity that appears to violate applicable laws, rules and regulations or the Code of Conduct itself.
Completes other duties as assigned.
