Job Summary and Qualifications
The Outpatient Pharmacy Manager serves as the Pharmacist-in-Charge and is responsible for the overall leadership, regulatory compliance, clinical excellence, and financial performance of the outpatient pharmacy. This role ensures the safe and efficient preparation and delivery of medications to patients, including bedside/department/clinic, infusion (if applicable) and home delivery services (if applicable), and provides direct patient counseling to support optimal therapeutic outcomes. The Outpatient Pharmacy Manager oversees daily pharmacy operations, supervises pharmacists and technicians, and ensures adherence to all applicable federal and state regulations, including DEA and Texas State Board of Pharmacy standards. Additionally, the Outpatient Pharmacy Manager collaborates with healthcare providers to enhance medication safety and supports strategic initiatives to improve service quality, operational efficiency, and fiscal accountability.
Major Responsibilities:
What qualifications you will need:
B.S. or PharmD. Degree from an accredited college of Pharmacy Required 3 years of experience in outpatient retail, specialty or hospital pharmacy Required 3 years of management or supervisory experience Preferred Completion of a 1-year pharmacy practice residency, specialty residency, or fellowship, and/or an advanced degree (MBA, MHA, MS) Preferred Familiarity with URAC/ACHC Accreditation and 340B Program Preferred Licenses, Certifications, & Training:
