What You'll Do

  • Establishes policies and procedures, and provides direction for regular and therapeutic diet menu planning; therapeutic diet food preparation, sanitation standards, medical nutrition therapy, quality improvement and diet office functions.
  • Collaborate with Culinary Services, Nursing, and other interdisciplinary teams to ensure outstanding nutritional care, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and Resident satisfaction.
  • Supervise 12-15 direct reports.
  • Provides medical nutrition therapy in the absence of a qualified Culinary Services Supervisor. Co-signs medical record documentation according to state and federal regulations.
  • Assists with selection and training of Culinary Services Supervisors.
  • Directs departmental in-service training.
  • Provide nutrition and dietetic consultation for Independent Living Residents in coordination with the Center for Vitality, Continuing Care Assessment Team and Resident Nursing.
  • Coordinates interdepartmental professional activities, and serves as consultant to management and other departments on matters pertaining to dietetics and nutrition.
  • Prepares budgets for approval and reviews financial reports and monitors budget to ensure efficient operations. Takes appropriate action to ensure expenditures stay within budget limitations.
  • Follows Willow Valley’s HACCP plan and Food Safety policies and procedures.
  • Utilizes computer programs to complete daily reports and communications.
  • Facilitates the development of seasonal menus with Chef team.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics from an accredited college or university.
  • Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of related experience in a geriatric long-term care setting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
  • Experience managing budgets and operational performance.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and disciplines.
