Manager of Licensing (Hybrid)

Starting Salary Range: $101,504 - $110,000

The State Corporation Commission (SCC) seeks an experienced and motivated leader to join the Bureau of Financial Institutions (BFI) as a Manager of Licensing. The Manager of Licensing will lead and directly supervise staff responsible for investigating various depository and non-depository financial institutions applications for licensure in addition to acquisitions and mergers of existing licensees. The SCC offers a hybrid work schedule (some in-office and telework days each week) as well as a variety of professional development and training opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide daily people management, operational oversight, coordination, and feedback and guidance for licensing team
  • Develop staff on licensing team, coordinate training and regular team meetings, facilitate knowledge transfer, and conduct performance appraisals
  • Participating in strategic planning, succession planning, and the recruitment of new staff
  • Create and update policies and procedures
  • Maintain efficient and comprehensive training programs
  • Ensure licensing team follows established policies and procedures
  • Remain up to date on changes and new developments relating to depository and non-depository financial institutions and applicable laws and regulations
  • Answer regulatory questions from staff, licensees, other regulators, and the general public
  • Review and edit licensing investigation reports and application forms
  • Prepare paperwork for regulatory action recommendations
  • Draft internal and external memos, letters, and emails
  • Attend training and conferences (this may require some travel each year)
  • Perform related work as required
