A regional multi-hospital system in Corpus Christi, TX is seeking a Manager of Labor and Delivery RN. The system spans 630+ beds across acute care, cardiac, behavioral health, and women's health services, including a dedicated Women's Center with a NICU and graduate medical education program. This management role is based within the Labor and Delivery unit at that Women's Center campus.
The role. Reporting to the Director, this manager oversees a 19-bed Labor and Delivery unit with 5 OB observation beds and 3 surgical suites, leading a team of approximately 80 FTEs. Day-to-day responsibilities center on maintaining overall unit operations, managing staffing, and monitoring the delivery of nursing care against established clinical standards and quality outcomes. The manager holds staff accountable for performance and drives clinical results aligned with facility objectives. In addition to L&D, this leader rotates on-call coverage approximately every third week for one week, serving as the on-call resource for Postpartum, Antepartum, and Labor and Delivery — handling phone calls and emergency notifications without routine physical presence during that period.
