Our client, an acute care hospital system in Houston, TX, is seeking a full-time permanent Manager of Case Management for the Emergency Department and Observation services. This mid-level leadership role is responsible for directing case management operations across the ED and OBS units, with accountability for utilisation management, discharge planning, and compliance. The role requires on-site presence and does not support remote work arrangements.
- Manage and oversee case management operations across the Emergency Department and Observation units
- Lead utilisation management, discharge planning, and cost/quality management initiatives
- Supervise, mentor, and develop case management staff within the ED and OBS departments
- Collaborate with emergency physicians, nursing staff, social work, and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain regulatory compliance and alignment with hospital quality standards
Must-Have
- Current and valid Registered Nurse licence in the state of Texas OR Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) - LCSW preferred; Case Manager Certification required
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) - LCSW preferred; Case Manager Certification required
- Case Manager Certification (CCM or ACMA) - required
- Minimum five (5) years' experience in utilisation management, case management, or discharge planning
- Minimum three (3) years' demonstrated leadership experience AND three (3) years' experience in hospital-based nursing or social work
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- LCSW licensure
- Experience in emergency department or observation unit case management
