Job Summary and Qualifications

The Manager is responsible for the planning, organizing, directing and controlling of the administrative, financial and operational activities of his/her section. The manager oversees all employees within the section and is responsible to ensure that all employees within the section are competent in their jobs and maintain the skills necessary to deliver the highest level of care to the patient. The manager operates the department in accordance with the financial and operational philosophies of the Methodist Healthcare System while insuring compliance with JCAHO, Medicare, Medicaid, NRC, OSHA, ACR and Texas Department of Radiation Control standards. The manager is responsible for maintaining accurate records for the department and always conducting himself/herself in an ethical and professional manner.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Directs, supervises and evaluates daily operations of the section: establishes objectives, develops and implements organizational policies and procedures, ensures effective use of resources.
  • Manages assigned personnel which includes work allocation; orientation, training and staff development; problem resolution; recruitment and hiring; evaluating performance of employees and taking appropriate personnel actions; motivating employees to achieve peak productivity and performance by providing clear direction and expectations; creating an effective work team.
  • Assures section compliance with quality and regulatory standards established by MHS, federal, regulatory and accrediting agencies. Maintains inventory and equipment service records.
  • Works with vendors to ensure optimum uptime of equipment in his/her section(s).
  • Schedules preventive maintenance and emergency maintenance without disrupting patient care. Administers fiscal operations of the section: monitors and authorizes expenditure, coordinates financial reporting, submits a plan and a final report of operational and financial activities of the section.
  • Embraces, employs and executes the principles of the MHS management philosophy (Studer, Methodist Excellence).

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or Graduate of a Radiology Technology Program.
  • Previous experience in a Healthcare setting (outside of clinics as a student).
  • Previous management experience desirable.

Minimum License and Certificates Required:

  • Must have, or obtain during orientation, a current CPR certification.
  • Manager must have ARRT and maintain CMRT credentials.
