    Manager of Credit & CollectionsBirmingham, AL$120,000-$125,000Our client is a growing company with a very successful history in their industry. They are searching for a Manager of Credit and Collections. This position serves as the credit executive with policymaking responsibilities in credit analysis, collections, accounts receivable, cash application and deduction management. This role will lead, develop and motivate a team of 8-10 Collection Coordinators in continuous improvement, customer service, and development opportunities. This role will also lead the initiatives of improving the company's DSO and minimizing the risk of bad debts.ResponsibilitiesOversee the development, strategic direction, and technical improvement of department processes, policies, and IT supported applications.Manage and prioritize all collection activities and risk mitigation activities across the business units.Work closely with the Sales Department to identify and pursue business opportunities through the establishment of appropriate credit lines to drive company revenue and profit objectives while managing risk.Regularly interact with executives and/or major customers. Assures appropriate professional customer engagement by the members of Credit & Collections department.Establish and manage DSO (days sales outstanding) and aged account collection goals.Responsible for executing credit strategies based upon thorough knowledge and understanding of Bankruptcy law and secured transactions.Review and approve non-chargeback credits, returns, pricing, shortages and refund checks.Problem solving, dispute resolution with wholesalers and other customers.Evaluate credit worthiness; identify industry trends and setting limits for new and existing accounts.Qualifications5-10 years of credit experience, including 5+ years at the managerial level in a fast paced, challenging business environment.Executive presence/ability to interact with all levels of the organization and external customers.Articulate and efficient communication skills.Proven success leading and developing a team.Experience managing credit/collections for a growing company.Exceptional critical thinking/problem solving skills.Large ERP system experience required.#J-18808-Ljbffr
