For over 40 years, North Hill has been a vibrant not-for-profit senior living community dedicated to enriching the lives of those 65+. The Manager of Safety, Security, and Transportation is responsible for overseeing all aspects of securityand guest services for North Hill Residents, visitors, and Team Members, assuring exemplary customer service and secure facilities.  
 
Job Specific Duties

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the campus Personal Emergency Response System (PERS)
  • Manage daily campus security operations, including access control, video surveillance, visitor management, key control, security patrols, incident response, and follow-up
  • Support the organization's safety program by conducting workplace safety inspections, identifying hazards, overseeing incident documentation and investigations, assisting with accident investigations, and ensuring timely communication, corrective actions, and follow-through
  • Coordinate and chair Campus Safety Committee meetings, prepare agendas and follow up on action items, and support assigned safety initiatives in accordance with OSHA requirements
  • Ensure consistent application of departmental policies, procedures, and performance standards while identifying and implementing opportunities to improve operational effectiveness and service quality
  • Maintain the Emergency Operations Plan and emergency response procedures through ongoing coordination, documentation, education, periodic review, and emergency preparedness exercises, including evacuation, disaster, severe weather, and tabletop drills, to ensure organizational readiness
  • Maintain effective working relationships with local emergency management agencies, police, fire, EMS, public health officials, MassMAP, and other community partners, and support compliance with applicable emergency preparedness regulations
  • Coordinate day-to-day transportation operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient resident transportation services while monitoring performance and recommending improvements to enhance efficiency, service, and resident satisfaction
  • Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, and support to Security, Safety, Transportation, and Distribution team members by managing schedules, monitoring staffing levels, performance, attendance, and service delivery, and addressing or escalating concerns as appropriate
  • Serve as the management liaison to the Resident Transportation Committee under Resident Council
  • Oversee package, mail, and delivery distribution operations, ensuring timely, accurate receipt, tracking, and delivery
  • Promote exceptional customer service across all Security, Safety, Transportation, and Distribution functions by ensuring timely, professional responses to residents, visitors, and team members and reinforcing established service standards
  • Manage departmental administrative functions, including processing invoices, monitoring routine expenses and budget activity, preparing payroll and timekeeping documentation, and ensuring timely and accurate completion of required administrative reports
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers to schedule routine services, obtain information or quotes, and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding items
  • Collaborate with leaders across the organization to resolve operational issues and support a safe, efficient, and positive experience for residents and team members
  • Meets department uniform, appearance and grooming requirements
  • Complies with all OSHA safety regulations, local applicable laws regarding health, safety or environment

Required Skills and Abilities 
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies and critical incidents
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices
  • Strong organizational, scheduling, administrative, follow-through, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing operational needs
  • Working knowledge of access control, video surveillance, Personal Emergency Response Systems (PERS), and other security technologies
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and strong customer support skills 
  • Complies with protection of health information (HIPAA) safeguards 
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision 
  • Work professionally with people from a wide variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds 
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with Team Members, Residents, family members, visitors, and the general public 
  • When working in Resident areas, must be able to communicate effectively in English 
  • Attends and participates in in-service educational classes, Healthcare Academy and staff meetings as directed  
Education and Experience 
  • Minimum of three years of supervisory or lead experience in security, safety, transportation, hospitality operations, healthcare, senior living, or a related field
  • Experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, higher education, or other large campus environments preferred
  • Associate's degree in Business Administration, Emergency Management, Criminal Justice, Public Safety, Healthcare Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred
  • Current membership in MassMAP, or the ability and willingness to obtain membership upon hire with organizational support; MassMAP Resource Officer designation preferred
  • Professional certification in emergency management, healthcare safety, security management, business continuity, incident command, or a related discipline preferred
  • Proficient with computer software programs

Pay Range: $85,000-$100,000/year
Individual compensation within this range is based on a candidate’s specific qualifications, including education, overall experience, relevant experience, and specific skills. We strive to ensure that compensation is competitive, fair, and reflects the value each candidate brings to the role.
