Summary of Position
The primary purpose of the Manager of Business Applications is to lead the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise applications across The Goodman Group. This individual will oversee core business systems—such as ERP, HR, finance, real estate, clinical operations, and CRM platforms—and will be responsible for aligning application capabilities with organizational needs in a cost-effective and scalable manner. This role reports to the CIO. This role is ideal for a pragmatic leader who can balance strategic vision with tactical execution.
Essential Job Functions
Strategy & Leadership
- Define and own the business applications roadmap aligned to company goals and functional needs.
- Serve as a key advisor to leadership on business systems strategy, opportunities, and risks.
- Champion technology-enabled process improvement and user adoption across departments.
Application Management
- Oversee the administration, configuration, and integration of key enterprise applications (e.g., ERP, property management, clinical systems, finance, HRIS, CRM).
- Evaluate and recommend third-party solutions or custom development where appropriate.
- Ensure application uptime, performance, security, and compliance with policies.
Solution Architecture & Delivery
- Design scalable and cost-effective solutions, integrating applications with other internal and cloud-based systems.
- Lead the selection, implementation, and upgrade of software platforms, coordinating with vendors and partners.
- Apply strong architectural and technical understanding to optimize data flow and business process alignment.
Project & Vendor Management
- Lead end-to-end project execution: requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, design, testing, deployment, and post-launch support.
- Manage application-related projects across departments, balancing scope, timelines, and budget.
- Oversee vendor contracts and relationships, ensuring quality delivery and value for cost.
Team Collaboration & Support
- Act as a liaison between IT and business units to translate needs into application solutions.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to team members and business super users.
- Drive user training, documentation, and support to increase application proficiency.
Knowledge and Critical Skills
- Be able to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
- Communicate effectively in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, team members, prospects, residents, and families.
- Knowledge/proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite.
Education and Experience
- 8+ years of experience managing business applications or ERP systems, ideally in a mid-market organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proven experience in project management, application architecture, and vendor management.
- Strong working knowledge of key business processes (finance, HR, operations, property management, healthcare systems).
- Experience with cloud-based platforms and SaaS solutions.
- Ability to work independently in a small IT team, wearing multiple hats.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to interface effectively with executive leadership and operational staff alike.
- Experience in senior living, healthcare, real estate, or hospitality sectors.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics, Net Suite, Yardi, or other similar relevant mid-market business platforms.
- Working knowledge of integration tools, APIs, and low-code/no-code platforms (e.g., Power Platform).
Supervisory Responsibility
- This position may have direct reports or supervisory requirements.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
Physical Requirements - The Physical activities of this position involve:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to minimally lift 15 pounds at times
- Ability to move throughout the office

- Ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment
