Job Summary

The Manager of Board and Presidential Events is responsible for the planning and execution of complex, high-profile events-involving University Leadership, trustees, and distinguished guests-on behalf of the Office of the Board of Trustees and the Office of the President. This position reports to the Assistant Vice President for Board Governance and Engagement and Associate Board Secretary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning and execution of meetings and events hosted by the Board of Trustees and/or the University President

  • Ensure cross-functional event alignment (e.g. run-of-show and briefing documents, space and logistical summaries, staffing plans, production schedules)

  • Partner with the Special Events team within the Office of Alumni Relations and Development to align on planning and execution for select events

  • Conduct site visits and secure venues on and/or off campus for meetings and events

  • Contract and coordinate third-party vendors (e.g. catering, audiovisual, security, etc.)

  • Partner with Supervisor to manage event budgets

  • Gather post-event feedback and identify areas of opportunity

  • Will perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelors or higher degree; or appropriate combination of education and experience

  • 3 years of event planning or other relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience producing complex, high-visibility events in higher education or similar institutions

  • Familiarity with event management tools

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven, highly collaborative environment

  • Exceptional customer service and relationship management skills

  • Manage the planning of multiple events concurrently, and proactively communicate with relevant stakeholders for each

  • Ability to determine the appropriate intersections to liaise and consult with university leadership on event related decision points

  • Excellent judgment and demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion

  • Driven to infuse consistency across Presidential and Board related events, ensuring institutional alignment and integrated execution

Target hiring range for this position will be between $110,000-115,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
