Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with procurement/supply chain for networking equipment, routers, switches, optical equipment.
  • Understanding of statistical forecasting methodologies - linear regression, probabilistic, and decision tree based.
  • Ability to influence without authority and confidence to interact with all levels, set objectives, drive results, be a team player.
  • Ownership mindset, and ability to advocate for and challenge business initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across multiple teams.

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges.As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support.

Google Networking leads the industry on volume of traffic (voice, video, and data) and network technology. As the Manager ensures that Google Global Networking, potentially the largest network in the world, makes sound financial investment decisions as it grows its terrestrial and undersea capacity, space, and power footprint to support the demand of multiple Google services, Search, Ads, YouTube, Cloud, and other product areas.

In this role, you will partner with business teams to lead projects to transform Opex and Capex planning, tracking, and spend control processes. You will drive influence with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support. Your work, whether it's month end close, monthly finance reviews, modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic investment decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $165,000-$245,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly/quarterly finance reviews, annual planning, and long range planning efforts.
  • Partner with business to work on network equipment procurement and deployment.
  • Develop and report/dashboard key metrics to proactively help business understand trends, both opportunities and challenges.
  • Develop/evolve governance norms to ensure we are procuring to planned deployment and minimizing E&O.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to identify opportunities to drive efficiency (value identification) and report on progress to help the business team achieve the target efficiency/cost savings (value capture).
