About the Role
The Manager in Training (MIT) program is a structured leadership development program designed to prepare candidates for a Store Manager position. During this approximately 12-week program, you will gain hands-on experience across all aspects of store operations, leadership, and performance management.
This role is ideal for individuals who are motivated to grow into a leadership position and are eager to learn how to run a successful retail operation.
What You'll Do
Leadership & Staff Management
- Support recruiting, training, and supervising store staff
- Learn scheduling, payroll review, and employee relations practices
- Provide coaching and support to team members and program participants
Store Operations
- Learn donation intake, product sorting, pricing, and merchandising
- Support strategies to meet production and sales goals
- Assist with maintaining store appearance, safety, and compliance standards
Customer Experience
- Deliver excellent customer service and create a positive shopping environment
- Support customer engagement and retention efforts
- Model positive interactions for store staff
Financial Management
- Learn cash handling procedures and daily deposit processes
- Support inventory tracking and loss prevention practices
- Assist with maintaining store operations within budget
Communication & Reporting
- Review daily sales and production metrics
- Communicate with store leadership and regional partners
- Support reporting and operational updates
Training Provided
