Job Summary:
Responsible for oversight of business operations and clinical patient care management of the diagnostic imaging services. Responsibility includes oversight of the section supervisors along with oversight of best practices within the department to create and implement efficient use of scheduling, equipment management and radiology technician''s productivity through the application of sound technical and financial practices. Maintain and improve established benchmarking and financial budgeting expectations at all locations by ensuring optimum efficiencies are in place and developed as the patient volume and patient care services dictate.
Education & Experience
Education and Experience Required:
Four (4) years' experience in radiologic technology that includes one (1) year leadership experience
Certifications, Licenses, or Registrations Required:
Mississippi Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) license and one of the below accepted credentials. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required post-hire within 90 days.
American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT):

American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS):
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Direct knowledge and experience with radiology, and/or acute care procedures. Sound oral/written communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work in a highly active and stressful environment. Must have the ability to train and motivate employees to ensure that staff retention and professional growth is supported. Must be able to build strong relationships with colleagues, UMMC personnel/leadership and equipment vendors. Must have a sound functioning ability to work with all office suite programs along with PACS/RIS and EPIC systems. Sound experience with understanding financials and benchmarking for their respective areas.

Requires frequent exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, constant handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment, constant exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, constant work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, frequent bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, occasional climbing, occasional crouching/stooping, frequent kneeling, frequent reaching, frequent sitting, frequent standing, frequent twisting, and frequent walking. (occasional-up to 20%, frequent-from 21% to 50%, constant-51% or more)
