About the Opportunity

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The Behavioral Health & Recovery Department is looking for a Manager I/II (Collaborative Courts) for the newly created Collaborative Courts Division of the Adult System of Care (ASOC). This Division was created to ensure improved coordinated entry into Behavioral Health care for Stanislaus County residents who are involved in the legal system. The ideal candidate is someone who has experience working with individuals with behavioral health disorders. The person should have experience supervising others and managing program operations.

THE POSITION

This position will report directly to the Collaborative Courts Manager III and will work under the direction of Chief of the Adult System of Care. This position will work closely with the other Adult System of Care coordinators and manager as well as other BHRS leadership.

Under the direction of the ASOC Chief, this position will monitor and manage the Reintegration Support Team, SUD/MH Diversion assessments and Prop 36 referrals. The position will also provide oversight and support to the Department's Collaborative Court programs.

Typical Tasks

• Plan, implement, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Collaborative Courts Division of the Adult System of Care
• Responsible for managing all aspects and tasks related to the planning and implementation of the Reintegration Support Team
• Accountable for ongoing key processes
• Provides leadership and oversight of staff mental health assessments, substance use disorder assessments, and ongoing behavioral health care treatment
• Participate as a positive contributing member within a collaborative team; utilizing conflict resolution techniques
• Meet deadlines and specific time frames
• Work effectively; establish and maintain good working relationships with all levels of internal and external customers
• Develop, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures
• Generate reports and correspondence that are effective, accurate and timely
• Lead an effective multi-disciplinary team
• Communicate with co-workers and community agencies and members of the public
• Provide a strong commitment to and demonstrate skills in the provision of culturally competent services to diverse populations, consistently utilizing multicultural skills, knowledge and experience
• Strategically build and maintain relationships with community partners across the County, and participate in a wide range of community collaborative and capacity building efforts, and provide education to reduce stigma;
• Monitor overall program compliance to all department policies to ensure that program meets Medi-Cal standards
• Develop and maintain effective communication and reporting mechanisms

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION FOR ALL LEVELS

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a masters degree in social work, psychology, or counseling, or a closely related field; AND

MANAGER I

• One (1) year of lead or supervisory experience overseeing functions in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling.

MANAGER II

• Two (2) years of progressively responsible management or program coordinator experience in a public or private human services organization performing duties comparable to a Stanislaus County Manager.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

In addition to the minimum qualifications, applicant screening will focus on the following desirable qualifications. Please list any of these qualifications you may have within the "Duties" section of the online application.

• Possess and maintain a valid license as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Clinical Psychologist, Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

EXAMINATION PROCESS

Unless otherwise provided, this position is part of the Unclassified Service of the County and considered "at will" for labor relations purposes. The individual selected will participate in the Stanislaus County Pay-for-Performance program, as well as receive additional benefits.
