POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY Under the direction of the Director, Quality/Risk Management, the Manager, Quality/Risk Management supports the design, monitoring, analysis and improvement of patient careorganizational functions. Implements the day-to-day Quality/Risk Management Program as outlined intheQuality/Risk Management Plan, including, but not limited to: data collection, analysis and reporting of care and risk activities. In addition, works closely with the Safety Officer, managers of the unit and medical staff in coordinating the medical staff quality program and the hospitals risk management program. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Level of knowledge is equivalent to the ordinarilyacquired through four (4) years of training from an accredited college, preferably registered nurse, or other health care discipline, in order to acquire a thorough knowledgeof performance improvement techniques and standards, develop a knowledge of the medical review process and techniques and learn data retrieval and reporting skills. Minimumexperience level required is one to two years as a registered nurse. Analytical ability to participate in the development of policies and procedures, conduct clinical case review activities, develop methods and techniques of deficiency resolution and review medical records data. Specific skills required for the position: Microsoft Office, Midas and other system-wide computer data-based software applications, presentation skills to assist in online case review during Medical Staff Peer Review activities and written communication skills to be able to communicate the peer review committees interventions.
