SUMMARY: The Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for leading the daily management of activities and overall functions of the Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) department. This position provides oversight and monitoring of operational processes for compliance with George's policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will have supervisory responsibility.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or related or equivalent related experience AND 5+ years of experience in food processing, food safety or quality assurance or 9 years of progressively responsible experience in FSQA
3 years of supervisory/leadership experience
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - written and verbal
Proficient computer skills, Microsoft applications (Excel, Power Point, Outlook etc.)
Working knowledge of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) management system required by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the standards set by the Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI)
Preferred
Experience with Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations
Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) Certification
ServSafe Basic Certification
Poultry experience
