Join the Memphis Grizzlies as the Manager of Financial Reporting, responsible for managing the financial reporting of the team.
You will be responsible for reporting on the team’s financial results in accordance with GAAP as well as specialized league reporting. You will connect with other finance management to interpret and tell the financial story for both individual departments and the organization, and manage related audits.
In This Role You Will:
Collaborate with the accounting and finance departments to prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
Prepare detailed analytical reviews and fluctuation analyses for senior management.
Prepare all financial reporting required by the NBA league office, including quarterly and annual financial projections in accordance with league-specific guidance.
Manage all league-related audits and players’ association engagements.
Prepare all related workpapers and reporting.
Prepare all flux analyses required by the audit.
Interface with league personnel and auditors to address questions and requests.
Incorporate operational and accounting improvements to minimize audit adjustments.
Analyze league revenue sharing projections and related financial impacts.
Summarize league benchmarking reports, identify notable variances and suggest opportunities for improved margins in business and basketball operations.
Analyze and provide direction on accounting treatment of guidance from the NBA league office in the organization’s financial statements.
Assist with budget and forecast preparation.
Assist with measuring, tracking and reporting on key performance indicators across multiple revenue channels.
Assist with automation initiatives for reporting and analyses.
Other duties as assigned.
The Experience You Will Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
CPA designation.
Four to five years’ accounting/auditing/finance experience.
Advanced Microsoft 365 proficiency, including Excel.
Experienced user of ERP / Accounting systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar.
Superior attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to interact and communicate effectively and collaboratively with non-financial colleagues.
Demonstrated ability to use technology and automation to enhance reporting and maximize efficiency.
Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays when needed.
Proven ability to work autonomously while handling conflicting deadlines.
Nice to Have:
Public accounting experience preferably with a Big4 or regional firm.
Professional sports industry finance/accounting experience.
Experience with AI accounting solutions.
Intermediate or advanced user of Microsoft BI.
Experience with Salesforce, KORE software, or related CRM applications
