POSITION SUMMARY:

COTA's Manager, Facility & Cloud Network is responsible for the design, operation, security, and reliability of the corporate network infrastructure supporting multiple office buildings, data centers, and cloud environments. This role works closely with infrastructure, security, facilities, and innovation teams to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance across all network services.

Performs duties that advance COTA's Strategic Plan and reflect the organization's core values of safety, empowerment, accountability, teamwork, and service, and support the mission of Moving Every Life Forward.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Lead the design and implementation of LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center network solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and performance requirements. Ensure secure, resilient, and scalable connectivity between corporate facilities sites, data centers, and cloud environments; oversee cloud network policies, routing architectures, and traffic optimization strategies.
  • Lead the research, planning, deployment, and enhancement of network security solutions; monitoring for vulnerabilities, intrusions, and emerging threats.
  • Oversee network performance and capacity management, ensuring high availability, reliability, and optimal operation of Cisco-based and cloud-integrated infrastructure. Implement and manage network performance monitoring tools to proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve issues and anomalies.
  • Manage the configuration, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of core network components, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPN concentrators, wireless systems, and virtual networking technologies.
  • Design and maintain complex switching and wireless environments across multiple facilities, ensuring seamless and secure connectivity.
  • Support the design and maintenance of multi-server and hybrid environments, including IP addressing, DNS, WINS, EtherChannel, and related network services.
  • Oversee multi-site network operations, software applications, and operating systems across both private and public facilities.
  • Plan and manage network related projects and initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point, providing guidance and support to staff, administrators, service providers, and vendors.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive network documentation, including configurations, diagrams, passwords, and change management records.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in computer science or a related field and five (5) years' progressive leadership experience with various levels of CISCO networking hardware in a Microsoft Windows based environment supporting a 24/7 production environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered. Experience in public transit administration preferred.
