Manager, Facilities & Operations
The University of Miami/UHealth has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Manager, Facilities & Operations to work at the UHealth Medical Campus. The Manager, Facilities & Operations plans, organizes, assigns, reviews, supervises, and directs the maintenance, repair, and renovation of assigned University facilities and related equipment, ensuring that jobs are completed efficiently and within regulatory guidelines.
Core responsibilities include:
- Ensuring adherence to University standards of facility operations. Manages a team of facilities staff, such as maintenance technicians, plumbers, and painters.
- Evaluating staff performance and recommending individuals for training or promotion.
- Addressing employee relations or performance issues, with the assistance of Human Resources.
- Managing all vendors that perform services for the facilities.
- Reviewing and analyzing a variety of reports and ensuring the resolution of any identified issues.
- Assisting with the maintenance of assigned budget for labor, materials, contractors, outsourced functions, and other expenses.
- Overseeing and ensuring continuous compliance with regulations, procedures, and documentation.
- Utilizing the appropriate system to compile data and generate reports for budgetary purposes, discussing information, and making recommendations for action.
- Participating in the on-call manager rotation and working with Campus Planning and Construction to address solutions for after-hours emergencies.
- Establishing and continuously assessing the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
- Ensuring employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

Core qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Certification and licensing: As required by federal/state/local code depending on the area of oversight
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
