About the Role
The Manager, External Communications - Executive, drives strategic external communications for senior leadership, shaping executive voice, visibility, and influence in the external market. You'll partner closely with enterprise leaders to develop compelling narratives, elevate leadership presence, and ensure consistency across high-impact, high-visibility communications.

Develop and align executive messaging to enterprise priorities, business performance, and transformation initiatives
Translate complex strategy into clear, compelling leadership storytelling for external audiences
Draft executive communications including speeches, remarks, op-eds, media commentary, and thought leadership content
Ensure narrative consistency across executive voices, including CEO, CMO, and senior leadership
Identify and secure high-impact media, speaking, and external visibility opportunities
Manage executive social media presence (primarily LinkedIn), ensuring authenticity, consistency, and alignment with business priorities
Partner with PR and brand teams to elevate leadership visibility tied to key company moments and narratives
Shape executive positioning around priority themes (e.g., innovation, AI, customer trust, business transformation)
Oversee leadership profiles, executive bios, and external representation materials
Maintain messaging frameworks, voice guidelines, and strategic insights to guide executive communications
Partner with media relations teams to support inbound inquiries and proactive storytelling
Lead executive interview preparation, including messaging, Q&A development, bridging, and risk mitigation
Provide real-time communications counsel to executives in high-visibility or sensitive situations
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
7-10+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or executive communications
Direct experience supporting senior leaders and developing executive-level messaging
Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences and formats
Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate complex topics into clear narratives
Experience managing high-priority, time-sensitive communications
Strong judgment and ability to navigate complex or sensitive situations
Proven ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in corporate, financial services, or highly regulated industries
Background in media relations or supporting executive media engagement
Experience supporting executive visibility or thought leadership strategies
Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth or transformation environments
