1.0 FTE Full time Day - 08 Hour R2325233 84202 ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH/SAFETY Facilities & Hospitality Menlo Park, 3700 Haven Ct, CaliforniaJob SummaryThis position leads the integration of solutions that address multiple regulatory requirements and certifying agencies, ensuring compliance with safety, security, hazardous waste, medical equipment, fire/life safety, and utility rules. Major functions include managing the compliance team, performing regular assessments, managing regulatory audits, ensuring effective record‑keeping, coordinating leadership reporting, and serving as the Laser Safety Officer and SHC Hospital Safety Officer.What You Will DoConduct the TJC EOC/Life Safety regulatory compliance program for SHC, LPCH, and Clinics; lead survey activity audits, interface with The Joint Commission for interviews, record reviews, corrective actions, and performance improvement opportunities; coordinate continuous preparation for all TJC EOC compliance activities for all sites.As EOC Safety Committee Chair, lead the generation of quarterly reports, annual evaluations, and management plans; conduct TJC EOC Periodic Performance Reviews; coordinate meeting agendas, minutes, and logistics; maintain documentation and records; manage EOC Safety Manual policies and procedures.As Hospital Safety Officer, develop hospital‑wide Safety Plans, analyze risks, address incidents, and develop mitigation strategies for Life Safety.Manage the Hazardous & Medical Waste and Waste Water & Storm Drain program, including applicable policy, program, and regulatory/compliance audits.Manage the Life/Fire Safety Program, including emergency evacuation programs, equipment, regulatory/compliance audits, and training.As Deputy Laser Safety Officer, develop laser safety policy, analyze risks, and develop mitigation plans.Education QualificationsBachelor's degree in a work‑related field.Experience QualificationsFive (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience, including one (1) year in the specialty area to which assigned.Required Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of TJC/OSHA/DHS standardsKnowledge of Safety Plan developmentKnowledge of general EH&S theory and practiceKnowledge of EOC Committee activitiesKnowledge of EH&S recordkeepingKnowledge of SHC management policyAbility to collaborate effectively with other departmentsAbility to write effective policy and proceduresAbility to solve problems effectivelyAbility to develop high‑level reportsAbility to organize compliance records and filesAbility to communicate effectively with managers, peers, and subordinatesSkill in interviewing, auditing, and risk assessmentSkill in reviewing and editing policies for approvalSkill in identifying and mitigating hazards and risksSkill in identifying opportunities for improvementSkill in ensuring compliance policy against observed conditionsSkill in building effective management programs to address needsEqual Opportunity EmployerStanford Health Care (SHC) strongly values diversity and is committed to equal opportunity and non‑discrimination in all of its policies and practices, including the area of employment.
