Summary:
This position is responsible for the management of day-to-day business operations of the Davenport Coffee Lounge within the School of International Service (SIS). This position is responsible for monitoring, maintaining and improving the quality of service, products, and the physical space of the coffee shop provided to the American University community by the Davenport Coffee Lounge under the supervision of the Senior Manager, Facilities Operations.
This position as head supervisor requires initiative, organization and the ability to mediate and guide 35 Federal Work Study (FWS) students. While this job is primarily self-directed, there is some supervision and assistance.
This position reports directly to the SIS Senior Manager, Facilities Operations and is responsible for supervising at least 30 FWS students daily during the academic year and 8-12 part-time students during the summer session.
This position also serves as the liaison between SIS and the Davenport Coffee Lounge

5.) Administration/Bookkeeping Support

Salary Range:
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
2 - 4 years of relevant experience.
Prior food service experience.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Food Certification and prior catering experience (recommended).
Ability to multitask as well as delegate tasks to employees when necessary.
Ability to manage a large staff.
Detail-oriented to provide accurate budget reports of the Davenport Lounge's expenses and revenues.
Prior customer service and managerial experience preferred.
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
Works well under pressure with a customer service focus.
