Responsibilities:

Manager, Data Center Systems Design & Linux Partner Enablement

THE ROLE:

We are looking for a passionate, dedicated, and creative leader who will be responsible for managing, leading, and developing an engineering team that is working with pre- and post-silicon hardware, software, and diagnostic teams to help ensure silicon success and rapid silicon validation of our products.

AMD’s Data Center Ecosystem and Application Engineering (DEAE) organization is seeking a Manager to lead Linux partner enablement for AMD’s EPYC CPUs and Instinct accelerators across the data center ecosystem. This role is central to ensuring day‑0 readiness and long‑term success with key Linux partners such as Red Hat, SUSE, Canonical, Oracle, and FreeBSD.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in operating system hardware enablement, extensive experience with Linux and open source development, and a strong background in partner engagement and upstream collaboration. As a Partner Enablement Manager, you will drive alignment across silicon, software, and partner roadmaps; ensure partners have early access to hardware and technical guidance; and work hands‑on with them through validation, integration, and optimization cycles to deliver high‑quality, performant solutions.

This role collaborates closely with Engineering, Product Management, Sales, Legal, Marketing, and Business Development to support the full lifecycle of AMD data center products—from early silicon bring‑up and feature enablement to security, customer escalations, proofs of concept, and backline support. The scope spans CPU and GPU enablement, ensuring a seamless and differentiated joint customer experience across the ecosystem.

Strong experience managing Linux development teams and technical partner engagements is essential.

THE PERSON:

A highly motivated and passionate professional with deep expertise in open source software development and a proven track record in enabling and growing a strong partner ecosystem. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional, highly technical environment, working closely with both internal and external partners to drive results that mutually benefit AMD and its partners. This individual will play a crucial role in improving efficiency, scaling engineering teams, representing partners across the broader organization and ensuring timely results.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

    • Extensive experience in open source software development, including upstreaming, backporting, and long‑term maintenance
    • Deep knowledge of one or more Linux distributions
    • Demonstrated experience working directly with partners and/or large customers
    • Significant hands‑on engineering management experience
    • Familiarity with automation frameworksAI workloads, and CPU architecture is highly desirable

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
