Overview
Job Purpose
The Manager, Commercial Analysis is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and commercially relevant pricing and deal analysis to support the Commercial Management team. This role focuses on executing analytical projects, identifying trends and issues within existing deal and pricing data, and ensuring insights are communicated clearly to support decision-making by senior leaders.
The role manages a team of two Commercial Business Analysts, providing day-to-day guidance, mentoring, and oversight to ensure consistent, high-quality output.
Responsibilities
Team Management & Development
Provide day-to-day management and mentoring to a team of two Commercial Business Analysts, supporting their development and ensuring work is delivered accurately and on time.
Coordinate team workload and priorities in line with direction from your manager.
Pricing & Deal Analysis
Execute in-depth analysis of deal structures, pricing trends, and licensing models across client segments, identifying patterns in discounting behavior and their impact on margin and deal quality.
Identify issues or anomalies in pricing and deal data, escalate findings to leadership, and support the development of solutions.
Oversee and conduct forensic reviews of client accounts to verify alignment between billing, contracts, delivery configurations, and commercial policy, managing resolution of identified discrepancies.
Reporting & Insights
Build and maintain dashboards and reports that give commercial teams visibility into pricing and deal performance, ensuring outputs are accurate, timely, and accessible to non-technical stakeholders.
Extract, clean, and integrate datasets from multiple sources - including CRM, ERP, and licensing systems - to support ongoing and ad hoc analysis requests.
Prepare and present data and insights to commercial and operational leadership to inform decision-making, with recommendations developed in collaboration with more senior leaders.
Process & Collaboration
Identify areas where existing analytical processes or commercial workflows could be improved, and work with leadership to develop and implement solutions.
Partner with Sales, Finance, Legal, and Pre-Sales on deal-level analysis and commercial recommendations, coordinating input from relevant SMEs as needed.
Maintain documentation to operationalize workflows and support consistency across the team.
Champion the adoption of AI-assisted workflows within the team, identifying opportunities to use tools such as Claude to accelerate analysis, improve documentation quality, and reduce time spent on repeatable tasks.
Manage Salesforce workflow tasks and ensure data integrity across all commercial reporting outputs.
