Job Requirements

POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager, Clinical Education, under the direction of the Director of Quality and Safety, oversees the development, coordination, and facilitation of clinical education and competency programs across the Health First Integrated Delivery Network's (IDN) Community Health Services (CHS) division. The Manager, Clinical Education partners with clinical and operational leadership teams to drive and cultivate the advancement in the delivery of safe, standardized evidence-based patient care through comprehensive clinical education to Associates across CHS.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Oversees the development, implementation, and facilitation of clinical orientation programs for Associates who practice as; Medical Assistants (MA), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), and Registered Nurses (RN).
  • Manages the coordination and facilitation for training and specialty-specific education to clinical Associates, and applies adult learning principles to deliver effective education across multiple modalities.
  • Enables initial and annual competency assessments for clinical Associates, in partnership with Human Resources (HR), Associate Development team, and CHS leadership.
  • Drives support for education related to point-of-care testing standards, compliance, and best practices in accordance with IDN expectations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs learning needs assessments, serving as an educational resources for CHS clinical and operational leadership groups; tracking education program effectiveness and offering assistance with continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborates with clinical and operational leadership teams to aid in the development, implementation, and education of clinical policies and procedures.
  • Manages and supports the coordination and facilitation of clinical education committees, workstreams, and performance improvement initiatives, in conjunction with leadership.
  • Partners with safety, clinical quality, and patient experience leadership teams to drive integrated improvement across CHS in workflow processes.
  • Serves as a resources for CHS stakeholders, delivering guidance and consultation to clinical and operational leaders on quality improvement strategies.
  • Tracks performance improvement plans, ensuring to drive sustained improvement across all CHS quality improvement initiatives.

Work Experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • Work Experience: Three (3) years' experience in clinical education, or clinical practice.
  • Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Florida.
  • Certification: None
  • Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
  • Knowledge and understanding of Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Federal Medicare program, Medicaid and medical insurance industry in general.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional/legal/medical documents, policies and procedures, government regulations, legislative issues, and legal documents.
  • Demonstrated expertise in accurately assessing evaluation and management documentation and coding.
  • Knowledge of CMS billing and documentation rules for DRGs, APCs, and CPTs coding.
  • Demonstrates decision making, analyzing and interpreting complex data/information, researching.
  • and preparing reports to present to leadership, monitoring quality control standards, organizing.
  • and coordinating multiple initiatives independently. organizational, verbal, written, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrates effectiveness to communicate with management and healthcare practitioners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) presentation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Master's degree in Nursing (MSN), or a relevant field.
  • Work Experience: Ambulatory or medical group clinical education experience.
  • Certification: Nursing education or specialty certification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, and stooping.
  • Long periods of computer time or at workstation.
  • Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.
  • May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.
  • Workspace may vary from open to confined.
  • May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.
