Job Summary

Manage and coordinate the operations of a unit or initiative of the university.

Responsibilities

Department Summary

The Manager of Admissions Events and Visitation is expected to lead a high-impact visit experience that directly contributes to enrollment growth and student engagement. This role requires strong operational execution, strategic thinking, and the ability to deliver an exceptional first impression of the university.

Typical Allocation of Duties:

Supervision of personnel - 30%

Supervise personnel, which includes work allocation, training, promotion, enforcement of internal procedures and controls, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions.

Manage and participate - 15%

Manage and participate in the daily operations of an assigned unit.

Implementation - 15%

Develop or assist with the implementation of policies and procedures, systems, and processes.

Researches new trends and developments - 15%

Research new trends and developments; presents recommendations as required.

Participate in planning and goal setting - 10%

Participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of short-and long-range plans and goals.

Develop and implement projects and programs - 10%

Develop and implement projects and programs to assist in accomplishment of established goals.

Department representative - 5%

Represent the department at various meetings, and committees; promote existing and new programs and/or policies.

Supervisor Expectations:

Campus Visit Management

  • Serve as the primary owner of all campus visit experiences, including daily tours, group visits, and large-scale recruitment events
  • Continuously assess and enhance visit programs to improve student engagement, satisfaction, and yield
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise student tour guides
  • Develop a high-performing student tour guide program focused on professionalism, storytelling, and peer-to-peer engagement
  • Manage expectations, training materials, and standard operating procedures for student staff
  • Deliver engaging and informative presentations to prospective students and families
  • Maintain a high standard of hospitality and customer service in all interactions

Enrollment Event Management

  • Manage on-campus recruitment events (Open Houses, Scholarship Day, Admitted Student Days, Special Programs)
  • Manage logistics, timelines, staffing, and day-of execution to ensure seamless experiences
  • Support select off-campus recruitment events as needed
  • Partner with academic departments, student services, athletics, and campus leadership to deliver a comprehensive and welcoming visit experience
  • Ensure timely, professional communication across all visit and event channels (email, CRM, and inquiries)
  • Provide strategic direction, planning, and execution for admissions events aligned with enrollment goals

Operations & Purchasing Management

  • Manage operational and purchasing functions in support of Admissions and campus visit programs, ensuring timely and efficient procurement of supplies, materials, and services
  • Serve as the departments purchasing card (P-Card) holder, maintaining full compliance with institutional, state, and system-level purchasing policies and procedures
  • Initiate and process requisitions, purchase orders, and vendor payments in accordance with university guidelines

Continuous Improvement & Accountability

  • Regularly evaluate programs, processes, and outcomes to drive improvements in efficiency and impact
  • Contribute to enrollment strategy by aligning visit experiences with recruitment and yield goals
  • Take ownership of results, demonstrating initiative, adaptability, and a commitment to excellence

Required Qualifications

Required Experience

Bachelors degree in a specified field and three (3) years of related work experience. Professional licensure, certification, and/or designation may be required in some areas.

$62,158
