Summary
: Responsible for assisting the Wastewater Analytics, Planning and Metering group in the development and execution of projects and business case evaluations through metering, modeling, data collection and data analysis. Supports operations through the meaningful use of data. Assists in the development of capital forecasting, asset probability indices and asset impact indices through collaboration with asset management. Assists with the execution of long-term planning initiatives such as master planning, facilities planning, evaluation of system improvements and optimization opportunities.
This position reports to the group's Director and is primarily responsible for managing planning projects. We are looking for a candidate who can collaborate extensively with internal and external stakeholders and who can use data to support the decision-making process. This position supports the delivery of GLWA's Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) through effective management of planning projects including scope, schedule, cash flow, creation of new projects, and other GLWA Project Management Plan (PMP) requirements. Additionally, this position assists with Stormwater Management Modeling (SWMM) simulations and sewer metering in partnership with the Analytics and Metering team members.
The candidate must be able to work in a collaborative environment with internal GLWA team members, member partners, and regional stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience in project management. The candidate must be able to work in groups and teams of analysts, modelers, engineers, and various technical and non-technical professionals. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able to author the writing of reports, technical memoranda and presentations to stakeholders.

Required Education and Experience
At the time of application, applicant must:
A. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in civil, environmental, or related engineering discipline AND three (3) or more years of experience in project management, preferably in a municipal or public utility setting
OR
B. Associate's degree in a related operational area AND five (5) or more years of experience in project management preferably in a municipal or public utility setting.

This position may require sitting and standing for prolonged periods, light to moderate lifting, reaching, pulling, and carrying. Manual dexterity and audiovisual/linguistic acuity are required.
Environmental Working Requirements:
Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to computer screens, working in team offices, and closely with all staffing levels.
Occasionally, work is performed at the Wastewater Resource Recovery Facility or in a field environment. This position requires the ability to perform site visits, involving exposure to the outside elements, weather, open water, hazardous chemicals, confined spaces, hazardous areas requiring personal protective equipment (PPE), and slippery and wet conditions.
