Job Summary
The Management Analyst II within the Nevada Department of Educations (NDE) Office of Fiscal Operations provides fiscal oversight and administration of complex state and federal grants and subawards. This position ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, agency policies, and funding requirements through comprehensive financial monitoring, reconciliation, and reporting activities.
Primary responsibilities include conducting bi-monthly fiscal reconciliations, identifying and resolving financial discrepancies, preparing journal vouchers and supporting documentation, and processing subrecipient Requests for Reimbursement within established timelines. The incumbent reviews expenditures for accuracy, verifies coding against the Chart of Accounts and approved budgets, and supports the development and administration of Notices of Funding Opportunity, grant applications, subaward agreements, and fiscal year-end reporting requirements.
This position works closely with Local Education Agencies (LEAs), subrecipients, and NDE program staff to monitor grant performance, financial obligations, and expenditure trends. The incumbent provides technical assistance related to the agencys online grants management system, resolves user access and system-related issues, and communicates fiscal policies, procedures, and requirements to internal and external stakeholders.
The Management Analyst II also participates in cross-functional workgroups and process improvement initiatives designed to enhance operational effectiveness, strengthen internal controls, and support continuous improvement efforts across the agency. Successful performance in this role requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines; proficiency in computer-based financial systems; and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
