For over 25 years, National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) has specialized in connecting experienced workers (ages 55+) with full-time and part-time job opportunities that support the critical missions of Federal Agencies across the United States.

NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the National Park Service (NPS). These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP).

Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee.

Qualifications:

BA/BS Degree with minimum additional experience of 20 year(s) in NPS leadership roles

  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS SharePoint
Duties:

Under the direction of the Deputy Regional Director or designee, the ESP enrollee will provide senior-level advisory, liaison, and project coordination services in support of administrative and business functions for the National Capital Region (NCR)

  • Serve as a senior advisor to the Deputy Regional Director and NCR leadership team on complex administrative, financial, and business services issues, providing options, context, and recommendations. Act as a key point of contact and subject-matter expert for the NCR administrative community (e.g., superintendents, administrative officers, and related staff), fostering collaboration, brokering connections, and supporting problem-solving on cross-cutting operational challenges.   20%
  • Support project management and coordination for high-priority initiatives (including, but not limited to, A250-related efforts, Executive Orders, and other Administration priorities), by helping to clarify roles, track milestones, identify risks, and facilitate follow-through across parks and offices.   20%
  • Provide advisory and mentoring support to financial and administrative staff to help sustain core functions such as budget formulation and execution, internal controls, reporting, and related stewardship responsibilities under current staffing constraints. Offer high-level advisory support on financial and administrative operations (e.g., budgeting, property management, business and commercial services) by reviewing current practices and recommending improvements to enhance efficiency, compliance, and alignment with Service-wide policy.   20%
  • Serve as an experienced liaison between NCR parks/offices and centralized Service-wide support functions (such as human resources, acquisition/contracting, information technology, training, internal controls, and other administrative services), helping to clarify processes, streamline communication, and elevate systemic issues.   20%
  • Assist NCR leadership in assessing and documenting administrative and business services capacity and needs, and in identifying potential approaches for organizing and staffing these functions in a changing organizational and budget environment.   10%
  • Help capture and sustain institutional knowledge by developing or refining written guidance, briefings, processes, and other tools that support continuity of administrative, financial, and project-management practices across NCR.   5%
  • Provide periodic updates to NCR leadership on activities, emerging issues, and recommended next steps within the scope of this agreement.   5%
