This position is a full-time Malacologist/Aquatic Biologist responsible for conducting aquatic surveys, field research, and monitoring mollusk populations, especially endangered freshwater mussels, snails, and crayfish.
Key duties include field sampling, species identification, habitat assessment, water quality measurements, data analysis, and report preparation.
The role involves ensuring regulatory compliance, collaborating with agencies and stakeholders, and managing projects on conservation and habitat restoration.
Requirements include a bachelor's degree in biology or related fields, 5+ years of experience, and the ability to obtain federal permits. Preferred qualifications are advanced degrees, GIS skills, and experience with endangered species and regulatory agencies.
