Description
Performs semiskilled work installing and maintaining water and sewer lines, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Senior Crew Coordinator.

Typical Qualifications
Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED and minimal experience in maintenance of water and sewer systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Thorough knowledge of related industry, organization, and department policies, practices, and procedures; thorough knowledge of related industry, organization, and departmental legal guides, recommendations, best practices, ordinances, and laws; thorough knowledge of industry standard and department specific equipment; thorough knowledge of department specific software; ability to use various measuring devices; ability to perform manual labor; ability to work in various weather situations; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.
Physical Requirements: This work requires the regular exertion of up to 10 pounds of force, frequent exertion of up to 50 pounds of force and occasional exertion of over 100 pounds of force; work regularly requires standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms and lifting, frequently requires speaking or hearing, pushing or pulling and repetitive motions and occasionally requires sitting, climbing or balancing and stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, using of measuring devices, assembly or fabrication of parts within arm's length, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work regularly requires working near moving mechanical parts, working in high, precarious places, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, exposure to outdoor weather conditions and exposure to vibration, frequently requires wearing a self-contained breathing apparatus and occasionally requires exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and exposure to the risk of electrical shock; work is generally in a very loud noise location (e.g. jack hammer work, garbage recycle plant).
