POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Maintenance Unit Supervisor, your roles and responsibilities will include:

1. Safety and Environment: Ensure a safe work environment that prevents harm to people and the environment, leading safety discussions and reviews
2. Performance Management: Support operational results by managing subordinates with a focus on safety, quality, quantity, and timely delivery.
3. Development and Training: Foster individual growth through challenging assignments, training, coaching, and mentoring for craftspeople.
4. Work Allocation: Allocate work fairly and assign tasks based on business priorities and departmental guidelines, adjusting for crew availability.
5. Technical Leadership: Lead a skilled maintenance workforce that emphasizes diversity, customer orientation, and responsiveness, utilizing root cause analysis for problem-solving.
6. Asset Management and Decision-Making: Manage assets effectively to ensure reliability and cost efficiency, while making fair performance-related decisions and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal Maintenance Unit Supervisor would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
Basic Qualifications:

1- High School diploma or equivalent (GED) from an accredited institution
2- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience
3- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience with direct reports

Preferred Qualifications:

1- Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
2- Mechanical background is a plus.
3- Experience in a union environment is a plus.
4- Knowledge of Company policies, procedures, and practices related to HR/IR including the bargaining and local agreements is a plus.
5- A working knowledge of principles and concepts of Lean Manufacturing (ABS) is required for effective business results.
