    Maintenance & Training Manager

    About the Role:

    We are seeking an experienced Maintenance & Training Manager to lead equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, technical training, and workforce development within a medical device manufacturing environment. This newly created leadership role will be responsible for maximizing equipment uptime, improving maintenance processes, developing standardized training programs, and ensuring technicians and production personnel have the knowledge and skills needed to support safe, efficient manufacturing operations.

    The ideal candidate combines strong hands-on maintenance leadership with a passion for coaching and developing teams. This individual will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Production, Quality, and Environmental Health & Safety to drive equipment reliability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the facility.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead all maintenance operations, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
    • Develop and implement structured technical training programs for maintenance technicians, machine operators, and production personnel.
    • Create standardized maintenance procedures, work instructions, troubleshooting guides, and equipment documentation.
    • Mentor and coach maintenance technicians while establishing skill development plans and cross-training initiatives.
    • Manage CMMS activities, including preventive maintenance scheduling, work order management, asset tracking, and maintenance reporting.
    • Drive equipment reliability initiatives to improve uptime, reduce unplanned downtime, and extend equipment life.
    • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, automation, and manufacturing equipment issues.
    • Partner with Engineering and Production to support new equipment installations, process improvements, equipment validations, and capital projects.
    • Lead root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions for recurring equipment failures.
    • Oversee spare parts inventory management and vendor relationships to ensure timely equipment support.
    • Develop maintenance KPIs and performance metrics related to equipment availability, downtime, preventive maintenance compliance, and technician effectiveness.
    • Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement, and operational excellence initiatives.
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA, GMP, environmental, and safety requirements while promoting a strong safety culture.
    • Coordinate contractor activities, equipment service providers, and preventive maintenance vendors.
    • Assist with facility maintenance, utilities, and manufacturing infrastructure projects as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field preferred.
    • Minimum of 8 years of maintenance leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
    • Demonstrated experience developing and leading preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
    • Experience training, mentoring, and developing maintenance technicians and manufacturing personnel.
    • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, and automation systems.
    • Experience implementing or managing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
    • Strong troubleshooting experience with CNC equipment, automation systems, injection molding equipment, extrusion equipment, or other industrial manufacturing machinery.
    • Experience supporting regulated manufacturing environments such as medical devices, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or similar industries preferred.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and project management skills.
    • Strong root cause analysis and continuous improvement experience.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Experience working in medical device manufacturing or other regulated manufacturing environments.
    • Knowledge of GMP, FDA Quality System Regulations, ISO 13485, and cleanroom manufacturing practices.
    • Experience supporting injection molding, silicone processing, extrusion, automation, robotics, or precision manufacturing equipment.
    • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement certification.
    • OSHA safety training or environmental compliance experience.
    • Experience leading equipment installations, facility expansions, or capital improvement projects.
    • Military technical maintenance leadership experience is highly valued.
