Job Details

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain food processing and packaging equipment in a USDA production environment
Set up, troubleshoot, and repair stacking, bagging, check-weighing, UPC bar coding, case erector, and conveyor equipment
Test, troubleshoot, and repair 110/230/460V electrical equipment including motors, starters, relays, timers, panels, breakers, conduit, and wiring
Read and interpret electrical control schematics for troubleshooting purposes
Perform minor programming and troubleshooting of VFDs and PLCs
Dismantle and reassemble equipment for repairs, cleaning, and lubrication per established maintenance schedules
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance across all facility equipment
Ensure all equipment is ready and in dependable operating condition prior to production
Fabricate parts and modify equipment as required
Maintain building compliance with city and fire regulations
Assist in coaching and training of maintenance and operations personnel
Adhere to all safety programs including lockout/tagout, ladder safety, and PPE requirements
Comply with SQF Food Safety Code for Manufacturing requirements
Report food safety concerns, unsafe conditions, and out-of-specification product or materials to supervision immediately
Provide rapid response to equipment malfunctions and breakdowns


QUALIFICATIONS
Needed:

High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum 5 years of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic experience in a food manufacturing environment (USDA or FDA regulated)
Ability to read and interpret electrical control schematics
Proficiency with hand and power tools; safe operation of machinery
Ability to work the weekend shift: Friday–Monday, 9:00 AM–7:30 PM
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Valid Illinois Driver's License preferred
Physical requirements: lift up to 50 lbs; stand/walk for extended periods; work in refrigerated and frozen environments; work at 25–30 foot elevations using a man-lift; push/pull heavy loads using hand jack
