Maintenance Technician

Contract Details

  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 5 months (with potential for extension and conversion to permanent)
  • Pay Rate: $25.00 $26.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: Monday Friday, 9:30 AM 6:00 PM (initial training schedule: 7:00 AM 3:30 PM)

Job Summary

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining small to medium-sized buildings, industrial systems, and equipment. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems. The candidate will be working in a hospital in a client-facing role with interactions with patients. The candidate will work both with other team members and independently, and will be assigned certain floors to fill work orders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and other building systems
  • Conduct routine maintenance inspections, diagnose potential problems, and make repairs
  • Assist with the installation and modification of building equipment and systems
  • Review assigned work orders and partner with available systems to track completion
  • Support energy management by ensuring all building systems are operating efficiently
  • Inspect existing installations for compliance with building codes and safety regulations
  • Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems; exchange straightforward information in a clear, concise manner
  • Impact team through defined duties, methods, and tasks as described in detail
  • Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance
  • Perform basic plumbing work

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or trade school diploma required (in lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered)

Required Experience

  • 4 5 years of relevant maintenance experience
  • 1 2 years of job-related experience (per role requirements in combination with diploma or trade school credential)

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Candidate will be working in a hospital setting
  • Client-facing role with interactions with patients
  • Must meet physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, and climbing stairs/ladders
  • Must be able to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more
  • Overtime may be required
