Maintenance Technician Job Description

Chem-Aqua - Maintenance Technician

The Utility Technician will be responsible for all maintenance responsibilities in established accounts in the territory. This position is a field-based position providing hands-on servicing of boiler and cooling water systems for our existing customer base, including but not limited to chemical testing, monitoring, calibration, repair of chemical-feed-related equipment, and visual inspections of systems when necessary. This is a remote position.

Responsibilities:

Perform diagnostics on water treatment equipment: reverse osmosis systems, water softeners, and other water treatment/conditioning systems to determine system condition, identify malfunctions, and take corrective actions

Provide routine preventative maintenance services; inspection, cleaning, and calibration of system components as necessary to assigned accounts, which may include repair and/or installation

Perform assigned water testing and sampling as required

Maintain customer chemical inventory which may include lifting and Moving of chemical drums, pumping chemical, drum disposal

Accurately report service calls by communicating, recording, and maintaining relevant information regarding treatment operations

Schedule service calls, including daily, weekly, and monthly reporting

Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

1-3 years of work experience in a field using mechanical principles

Experience in the water treatment or related industry a plus

Ability to a work flexible schedule, some weekends required

High School Diploma or equivalent is required

Knowledgeable in MS Office applications

Knowledgeable in using a computer, tablet, smartphone, and other work-related technology

Must be able perform physical work in a HVAC, cooling towers, or boiler equipment environment requiring exposure to chemicals, noise, hot & cold temperatures, and inclement weather

Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record (DMV record will be checked)

Required work activities include but are not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting, climbing and descending stairs and ladders (from 10-30' in height), sometimes while carrying drums of chemicals weighing up to 50 pounds while maintaining a 3-point ladder contact (per OSHA rules).

20 % travel required - No overnight travel required
