Maintenance Technician - (Palmetto, FL)

Hitek Truss is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support our truss manufacturing facility in Palmetto, FL. This position will be responsible for maintaining production equipment, forklifts, saws, presses, air compressors, and facility systems while ensuring safe and reliable plant operations. As the primary maintenance resource for the facility, this individual must be able to work independently, coordinate repairs, and respond quickly to equipment issues.

Primary Role Expectations:

• Inspect and verify the safe operation of plant equipment and tools;
• Track maintenance needs of plant and complete repairs in order of priority;
• Communicate with supervisors and team on any down time needs to complete maintenance on equipment, tools, or machinery;
• Develop preventative maintenance schedule;
• Conduct preventative maintenance in accordance with the schedule;
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures while performing maintenance and repairs, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all lockout-tagout (LOTO) practices;
• Coordinate with supervisors when 3rd party services are needed to complete repairs;
•  Maintain maintenance records and spare parts inventory.
• Support equipment installations and plant improvement projects.
• May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Two (2) years-experience performing these or similar tasks; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively
• Demonstrate knowledge of plant equipment and preventative maintenance needs.
• Technical skills to complete repairs.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Must be able to lift at least 50lbs occasionally
• This position requires walking, standing, climbing, squatting, bending, lifting, and kneeling are all required physical aspects of the job

Compensation details: 24-28 Hourly Wage
